Response of Liliums grown in-vitro to different concentrations of coconut water.

Few explants from cultivars Tender and Chanti formed callus with a relatively low percentage of callus proliferation. Lilium explants grown in a media composed of MS + 10 mg IAA/li to 20 - coconut water and MS + 10 mg IAA/li at 40 percent coconut water formed callus at a longer period of time with low percentage of callus proliferation. Earliest and highest percentage of shoot formation after planting was observed on explants from cultivar Monte Rosa. Media composition of MS + 10 mg IAA/li + 10 percent coconut water promoted earlier shoot formation while explants grown in a media composed of MS + 10 mg IAA/li + 20 percent coconut water produced the highest number of shoots. Vigorous shoot formation and highest number of roots were observed in explants for cultivar Monte Rosa, while explants grown in a media composed of MS + 10 mg IAA/li without coconut water formed roots at a shorter duration. Explants grown in media composed of MS + 10 mg IAA/li + 30 percent coconut water produced the highest number of roots. Numerous number of leaves and bulblets were obtained from explants of cultivar Monte Rosa and on media composed of MS + 10 mg IAA/li + 20 percent coconut water.
