The physiological changes in the tested maize hybrids were measured on the vegetative and maturity stages root and shoot length of the tested hybrid at hot growth stages respectively. The leaf spot of Cercospora was observed only on the lower side of leaves. Successful establishment of the pathogen in the host system was studied on the basis of symptomatic development and physiological response of the host. Under green house conditions, a plant was monitored right from elongation of hypocotyls to the maturation of the plant. The plants grown in the green house were affected by Cercospora at the vegetative growth stage. The test hybrid exhibited varying response in diseases development pattern. The tested hybrids exhibit diverse responses to the inoculated fungal pathogen. The responses of fungus were categorized with help of diseases rating scale.
