The present investigation is based on the seasonal variation of centric diatom diversity and their correlation with physico- chemical properties of stagnant and disturbed water bodies. Diatom specimens were collected during April-November 2009 from Multan. This revealed the presence of 10 centric diatom species belonging to order Biddulphales, out of these, 3 belong to Family Biddulphaceae and 7 to Coscinodiscaceae. All genera were new records for Multan whilst Odontella, Triceratium, Paralia and Podosira were reported for the first time from Pakistan. Diatom communities were dominated by taxa Coscinodiscus. During summer season, centric diatom assemblage showed maximum population, which gradually decreased and no taxon was found in the beginning of colder months.
