A collecting mission in Crete was carried out in September 2005 within the framework of an agreement between the Plant Genetics Institute of CNR, Bari (Italy), the University of Kassel (Germany) and the Park for the Preservation of Flora and Fauna, Technical University of Crete (Greece). The main aim is the safeguarding of autochthonous crop genetic resources present in the Mediterranean islands.
