This case study includes material traking and information processes within the flows of raw materials, semifinished and ready-made food products in human nutrition. This study puts a special accent on information processes for they serve as the basis for taking decisions which can have a positive effect and, thus, contribute to the successful control of food processing and distribution costs. It is necessary to establish an integral (logistic) system for supervising supply, transportation, storaging, processing and distribution chains, since interrelation among those components has a crucial impact on an overall economic effectiveness of the bossiness policy. We have defined logistic modalities to provide the most optimal solution to the nutrition issue within the Armed Forces facilities. The model was tested on the example of Military Medical Academy in Belgrade (Serbia). By applying this mathematical model as an instrument for logistic management, we have an identified optimal solutions for organizing food processing and distribution process and defining nutritional structure, that is creation of optimal cost effective annual, quarter, and monthly nutrition plans, which should provide satisfaction of all nutritional needs as well respective national regulations. Regular application (upgrading) of the model would ensure a continuous economic and effective management of food processing, storaging and distribution chains as well as professional development and strengthening of the workforce engaged in directly controlling and managing the whole food supply chain system and logistics.
