Studies were conducted in the period 2009-2011 in the experimental field of the Institute of Land Reclamation and Agricultural Mechanization – Sofia. The following treatments were used: a1 - no herbicides with weeds (C0); a2 - herbicide oxyfluorfen (Goal 2 E) at a rate of 250 ml/da; a3 - herbicide oxyfluorfen (Goal 2 E) at a rate of 500 ml/da. The experiment was set up using long plots, three versions in three replications with harvest area size of 20 square meter. Herbicide oxyfluorfen (Goal 2 E) used at rates of 250 and 500ml/da, suppresses the development of ammonifying bacteria and bacteria-digesting mineral nitrogen in the 0-10cm soil layer and stimulates it in 10-20cm layers. Oxyfluorfen used at rates included in the study had no depressing effect on the development of actinomycetes and micromycetes at both depths studied. A significant effect on microorganisms in 0-10 cm and 10-20cm soil layers was not established after oxyfluorfen application.
