Among others, microclimate conditions belong to the very important ergonomic aspects regarding safety and efficiency of human-machine system. Field of research of the paper are factors that influence the heat processes between the cab, operator and environment, mainly due operator's thermal sensation. This includes analyze of characteristics of cab materials, internal geometry and design of air distribution system, over the sample of middle-sized tractor range. The aim of the paper is to identify and analyze the most important parameters, in the same time making the basis for the design of a cab for certain tractor, from the point of view of minimizing the adverse influences of thermal load on the operator. The result showed that the cab glazing is the most important factor, due to its size and thermal and solar characteristics. Consequently, significant reduction in operator as well as the cab thermal load could be achieved by the choice of proper glass characteristics and by appropriate design of air-distribution system.
