Agricultural tractors represent special type of traffic participants, as well as the high road-risk factor responsible for traffic accidents. Due to their construction and speed they slow down other participants and cause difficulties in the traffic which often leads to traffic accidents. This paper shows the analysis of the percentage of traffic accidents involving tractors in the total number of accidents occurring on the territory of South Bačka district in the period from 2005-2010. Although the percentage of traffic accidents involving tractors was found to be rather small in the total number of traffic accidents the consequences they had were far more serious. Different research revealed that 63.5% of traffic accidents with tractors had tractor as the main cause of the accident. Out of a total number of traffic accidents involving tractors 31% of accidents resulted in dead participants and 69% of accidents caused only the material damage. Out of a total number of traffic accidents caused by tractors, 26.59% of accidents had injured or dead participants as their outcome. In 2010, the number of traffic accidents with tractors reduced, and that was a direct result of the implementation of the new Road Safety Law.
