Application of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in spark ignition engines have many adventages over standard unleaded petrol fuel. Today LPG is widespread alternative fuel for spark ignition engines. The reason for this widespread use are low cost of this fuel and favorable environmental proporties. Also LPG compared to unleaded gasoline extends engine life. But besides this described adventages the use of LPG results in degradation of output characteristics of the engine. This paper presents the characterstics of power and efficinecy in case for engine working on LPG and standard unleaded fuel. Performed simulation were done for case of engine working on knock limits and calculation was made during variable piston compression. The results show an increased efficiency and reduction in power for case where the engine is running on alternative fuel.
