Cryotherapy of shoot tips represents new method for elimination of plant pathogen based on cryopreservation techniques. Cryopreservation is method for long-term storage of different plant material at ultra low temperatures in liquid nitrogen (-196 deg C). Cryotherapy, as plant pathogen eradication method is based on uneven distribution of plant pathogens (viruses, bacteria and phytoplasma) in shoots tips which allows elimination of infected cells by injuring them with low temperature exposure followed by survival of pathogen free cells and regeneration of healthy plants. In this work we would like to summarize some results with implementation of this method in the world and our country.
