For sale of agricultural land and the amount of market prices in Slovakia in addition to the essential characteristics of (productive capacity of soils, the economic attractiveness of the location of the plot) also influence the specific factors, such as land fragmentation, unresolved ownership relations and the ongoing landscaping for the rational layout of property. Content of the paper is a presentation of analytical results of monitoring the sale-purchase contracts inserted in Real estate register in 2009 and the evaluation of aggregate data on sales of agricultural land for the years 2001-2009, since the database of information on market transactions for agricultural land has been build at the Research Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics. Analysis of sales of agricultural land shows that even after eight years of tracking these data, there was no significant development of the land market. Also in 2009 the land belonged to the best-selling type of arable land. The highest number of land was sold in the district of Liptovský Mikuláš. Overall, the predominant land sale with the area up to 1 hectare. Further, in the paper, there are the ownership and use of agricultural land rated on the basis of survey results, leased land scope, form and length of rental and the actual amount of rent for land. The results show that the vast majority of land in Slovakia, is used for agriculture business, the land is leased and the lease length is at most businesses closed at 5 to 10 years. The most frequent interval the amount of rent per hectare of land was from 20,1 euros to 40,0 euros.
