During the 2008 and 2009 years was investigated occurrence of harmful factors on lemon balm (Mellisa officinalis), within the field trials of medicinal plants, at locality Kolíňany (near Nitra) in Southwest Slovakia. The most important pathogens of lemon balm and their harmfulness were determinate. Pathogens Septoria melissae and Puccinia menthae were found on the leaves during summer and Fusarium oxysporum was isolated from affected stems. Level of infections was not high and number of infected plants does not exceed 10%. Leafhopper Eupterix atropunctata was determined as most important and harmfulness pest on lemon balm. Other species commonly found was Emelyanoviana mollicula, Longitarsus ferrugineus and Phyllotreta atra, but frequency was not higher. Pest damage and diseases symptoms have been reported on lemon balm.
