إنجليزي. The aim of this research was the determination of some physical and mechanical properties of edible summer squash such as linear dimensions, seed weight, thousand seed weight, skin puncture force, skin pull-of force and split force, modulus elasticity which are effect for edible summer squash harvesting. All the properties of edible squash that provide useful data to engineers in the design of harvesting machines. Physico-mechanical features of these edible summer squash were found that, average skin puncture force was 60.30 N, skin pull-of force was found 18.96 N. At the measurement process, split force was found 168.8 N.

Ancak üretim yapısı incelendiğinde hem birim alandan alınan ürünün azlığı hem de kalitesinin iyi olmadığı görülmektedir. Şüphesiz bu konuda tohumluk özellikleri yanında gerçek anlamda mekanizasyona önem verilmeyişi ya da bu konudaki eksiklikler vb. konularda etken olmaktadır.
