Phytoplankton Composition of *ROPME Sea Area (Arabian Gulf) مكونات الهائمات النباتية لمنطقة بحر روبمي ( الخليج العربي )

The species composition of phytoplankton was studied in the *ROPME Sea Area. It consisted of 80 species of diatoms, 43 species of dinoflagellates, one species of Silicoflagellate and unidentified species of microflagellates. The population of dinoflagellates was dominated mainly by Ceratium massiliense especially in the western part of ROPME Sea, while Ceratium tripos, Ceratium vultur and Peri- dinium depressum made a sizable part of dinoflagellates biomass at many stations. The predominance of diatoms were found in the samples collected from the east side of ROPME Sea. This was accompanied by high levels of micronutrients especially the silica and chlorophyll a in this area were also very high.The dominance of Bellerochea malleus and Eucampia zodiaca occurred at most stations, while Co- scinodiscus genera made greater contribution to phytoplankton population at many stations. Leptocylindrus minimus and Rhizosolenia ala- ta made the majority of phytoplankton biomass in the west side of ROPME Sea. درست مكونات أنواع الهائماتالنباتية في بحر روبمي ( الخليج العربي). وتتألف هذه الهائمات من (80) نوعا من العصويات ( الدياتومات)،(43) نوعاً من السوطيات الثنائية ( السوطيات الدوارة)، نوع واحد من السوطيات السليكية، أنواع غير معروفة من السوطيات الدقيقة. النوع الرئيس الذي يسود أساسا مجتمع السوطيات الدوارة هو Ceratium massiliense، خاصة في الجزء الغربي من بحر روبمي ، بينما في العديد من المحطات الهيدروجرافية التي جمعت منها العينات تظهر أنواع أخرى بكميات كبيرة ، خاصة نوع Ceratium tripos ونوع Ceratium vuiture وأيضاً نوع Peridinium depressum. الهائمات العصوية ( الدياتومات) وجدت أكثر شيوعا في العينات التي جمعت من الساحل الشرقي للخليج العربي، وصاحب ذلك التراكيز العالية للأملاح المغذية خاصة السليكا وكلوروفيل(أ). أشهر أنواع الهائمات العصوية في الخليج هي Belleurochae malleus ونوع Eucampia zodiaca وجدت أكثر شيوعا في غالبية المحطات، بينما جنس Coscinodiscus ساهم بفعالية عالية في مجتمع الهئمات النباتية: كما وجدت أيضا أنواع Leptocylindrus minimus و Rhizosolenia alata والتي تمثل الغالبية العظمى من الكتلة الحيوية للهائمات النباتية في الجانب الغربي من بحر روبمي ( الخليج العربي ).
