In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented the results of study of varieties of fibre flax (Linum usitatissimum) in seed production seedlings. In course of the study it was found that the late-ripening Vasilek flax variety had the highest yields of flax fiber, while the mid-ripening variety Blakit was less productive. Early maturing, medium and late varieties formed almost the same yield of fiber and seeds at the level of 6.5-7.3 centner/ha. It was proved that the weather conditions as well the technological factors rendered substantial influence on the formation of fiber and seed yields. In the production conditions the varieties Levit 1, Blakit, and Vasilek provided the specific yield of long fiber at the level from 50 up top 70%. Fiber quality corresponded to 11.5-13.8 grades. The yielding capacity of seeds at the level of 6.3-10.1 centner/ha and fiber at the level of 10.9-16.5 provided the economic efficiency of flax seed and rotted straw production at the level of 7.7-23.7%.
