The detailed soil and ecological division (microdivision) and land types recognition with the quantitative characteristic of the agroecological conditions of the territory taxonomic units is considered to be the scientific basis for the optimization of the natural and especially land resources. Under a high heterogeneity of the soil cover typical for the territory of Belarus, data of detailed soil and ecological division and the typology of lands provide the necessary information for the determination of the priority ways of the land use and management in some microdistricts - traditional arable farming; conservation arable farming with drainage reclamation and limitations for the use of radiocontaminated areas; agricultural use with meadow management; forestry; agricultural use with selective forestry; forestry with selective farming; wildlife management; wildlife management with selective forestry; wildlife management with selective recreational use. The typology of lands suggests outlining territories showing the similar natural conditions for agricultural activities and comparable in area with the existing agricultural land units. The proper way of their use and the necessary conditions for forming parcels are to be specified. Sometimes their boundaries do not match the boundaries of the existing parcels. The materials of the detailed soil and ecological division and the typology of lands are considered to be the necessary ground to provide the reliable justification, of the landscape-adapted systems of arable farming.
