The presence of Ramularia collo-cygni had been tested on the samples of spring and winter barley from CISTA experimental stations across the Czech Republic during the years 2009-2011. Spring barley samples of cvs. Diplom, Jersey and Prestige were examined in 2009, cvs. Advent, Aktiv and Blanik in 2010-2011. Winter barley was represented by cvs. Amarena, Fridericus, Laverda, Reni and Wintmalt in 2009 and 2010, by cvs. Laverda, Reni, Soleyka, Wendy and Wintmalt in 2011. Strong infection pressure of the pathogen was recorded in 2009 when most samples were infected. In 2010, 70 samples of winter barley from 14 locations were examined. Out of these samples, 41 were not infected. Spring barley leaves were obtained from 24 locations, but pathogen conidia were present in 8 samples only. There were 120 winter barley samples from 12 locations in 2011. The presence of conidia using the rapid test was confirmed in 21 samples whereas 61 infected samples were detected using the PCR method. Spring barley leaves were obtained from 23 locations and pathogen conidia were detected in 20 using the rapid test. PCR detected 70 infected samples.
