The Holstein dairy cattle in Antioquia has been subjected to different degrees of selection pressures and, at present, parameters of population structure and genetic diversity for some polymorphisms of importance for performance. Therefore, this investigation was carried out using two molecular markers SNPs located on the bovine growth hormone and prolactin genes, in order to obtain information on the genetic diversity of Holstein population of Antioquia and its structure

El ganado lechero Holstein en Antioquia ha sido sometido a presiones de selección con diferente intensidad y actualmente no se conocen los parámetros de estructura poblacional y de diversidad genética para algunos polimorfismos de importancia en la selección. Por tanto, se ha realizado una investigación usando dos marcadores moleculares SNP que se encuentran en los genes de la hormona del crecimiento bovino y prolactina, con el objeto de obtener información sobre la diversidad genética de la población Holstein de Antioquia y su estructuración.
