The present work was conducted at the faculty of agriculture, Ain Shams University to investigate the effect of probiotics on productive performance of giant fresh water prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii reared in a closed recycling system. At level of 1.5 gram probiotics containing (Saccharomyces cervesia and Bacillus subtilus) were added to one kg of diets containing either rice or wheat bran, which represent 20% of four experimental diets (35% crude protein) with or without the probiotic tested. The experimental treatments were performed in three replicates each, were designated as follows: 1st treatment was the control included 20% rice bran without probiotcs ,2nd treatment was included 20% rice bran with probiotics, 2 (rice bran + probiotics), 3rd treatment was the 2nd control included 20% wheat bran without probiotics, 4th treatment was included 20% wheat bran with probiotics. Twelve 60-(L) volume fiberglass tanks were allocated to carry out the current experimental design. Each tank was stocked with 0.2g post larvae at a density of 15 animals of giant fresh water prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) per tank and was offered the experimental diets at a rate of 20% of prawn biomass for 92 days. Results releaved that better nutritional parameters (weight gain, average daily gain, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency ratio, protein efficiency ratio) were obtained when probiotics were added to wheat bran based rations. It is concluded that growth performance and feed utilization parameters of M.rosenbergii could be improved by using wheat bran based diets containing probiotics
