Effect of some medicinal plant supplements to feeds on reproductive and productive performance of ewes

Fifty six mature Barki ewes were used over the matingseason, the animals were randomly assigned to four experimental groups (14 animals each) Ewes of Gl and G2 were flushed for 10 days (pre-mating) and 7 days (during -mating) by additional 100 g 17/ head / day of yellow corn. Ewes of G3 and G4 were flushed for days (during -mating) by additional 100 g / head / day of yellow corn. Gl and G3 only were treated with double oral doses of Reproton, and during late pregnancy ewes were randomly divided into two similar groups (10 ewes each) where TI was offered 100% and T2 120% of the Tommi allowances.The main result showed a higher rate of conception in G2 andG3. The litter size was improved in ewes treated with Reproton, representing (1.08 lamb / ewe) and (1.07 lamb / ewe) for G1 and G3 and (1.0 lamb / ewe) for G2 and G4, respectively. T2 increased (PO.OS) milk yield, 4% FCM, fat yield, TS yield, SNF yield and lactose yield compared with TI; While, there was no significant difference (PO.OS) in plasma total protein, albumin, A/G, GOT, GPT and creatinine during lactation period. There is no significant difference between the two feeding levels during late pregnancy and lactation period (60 days) on ewes birth and weaning weight The average daily gain of lambs was insignificantly higher in T2.
