إنجليزي. Thesis has been developed from 2004 till 2012. The aim of the Thesis is to identify and corroborate possible formation of world view (Weltanschauung) in vocational schools. The first chapter analyses and describes the concept of world-view in philosophy and education, and the structural model of world view and its contents. Criteria and indicators for presence of world view or its components are established the chapter deals with theoretical possibilities of the formation of world-view in the process of education as well as its connection to the education theory of critical constructivism, and describes the situation in vocational education from the point of challenges and possibilities of personality development. The second chapter focuses on the research in vocational school student's world-view, as it present itself in the essays, written for state exam in the Latvian language and literature in years 2004, 2007, 2011. The results of qualitative research were summarised and illustrated by quantitative data and statistics. To find the conditions that affect the formation of world-view in vocational school students, some of vocational education programs were analysed and teachers were interviewed with subsequent analysis of those interviews. The third chapter discusses the possibilities of the formation of students' world-view in vocational education in Latvia, provided by Latvian legislation, analyses competencies necessary for vocational school teachers and the experts' interviews about opportunities to promote world-view formation in vocational school students. Conclusions: Personified values for the core of world view ("Weltanschauung"), and determine the attitudes towards self, nature and society. The components of world-view: transcendence (personification), values (personal values), being (goals and ideals), knowledge (of self and society), are the basis for criteria of presence of the Weltanschauung. Formation of world view (Weltanschauung) within the system of education and life-long education as synthesis of the new knowledge into constructive or deconstructive attitudes towards the world (self, nature or society) is consistent with the basic trends of critical constructivism theory in education. The essays (years 2004, 2007, 2011) analysed in the research do not reveal consistent factual knowledge in vocational school students, or the skill to apply the knowledge (33-91% of the essays use daily life facts for illustrations, but do not analyse them).

لاتفيا. Promocijas darbs izstrādāts laikā no 2004. līdz 2012. gadam Promocijas darba mērķis paredz noteikt un pamatot jauniešu pasaules uzskata iespējamo veidošanos profesionālajās skolās. Pirmajā nodaļā, analizējot pasaules uzskatu filozofijā un pedagoģijā, raksturots pasaules uzskata veidošanās modelis, pasaules uzskata saturs, noteikti pasaules uzskata veidošanās kritēriji un rādītāji, apskatītas pasaules uzskata veidošanās teorētiskās iespējas kritiskā konstruktīvisma teorijā, raksturota situācija profesionālajā izglītībā saistībā ar personības attīstības veicināšanas uzdevumiem. Otrajā nodaļā ir profesionālo skolu audzēkņu pasaules uzskata izpēte 2004., 2007., 2011. g. Kvalitatīvajā pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti apkopoti, ilustrēti kvantitatīvi, pielietojot arī statistikas metodes. Profesionālās izglītības programmu satura un skolotāju viedokļu analīzē atklāti pasaules uzskata veidošanās nosacījumi profesionālajās skolās. Trešajā nodaļā apskatītas audzēkņu pasaules uzskata veidošanās iespējas profesionālajā izglītībā Latvijā saistībā ar likumdošanu, analizētas profesionālo skolu pedagogiem nepieciešamās kompetences un ekspertu viedokļi, izstrādāti ieteikumi audzēkņu pasaules uzskata veidošanās veicināšanai.
