This study provides fundamental data that is helpful for improving competitiveness of domestic fruit industries in the international market. The survey was conducted to 350 foreigners who live in Korea to obtain their purchasing characteristics of domestic fruits and preferences toward domestic fruits. To obtain those purposes, this study uses the ordered probit model. Basic data classifications show that domestically residing foreigners are generally content with the taste and quality of domestically produced fruits. Apple is answered as the most preferred fruit. Foreigners often stop buying domestically produced fruits because of the expensive prices. The econometric results show that the purchasing probability of domestic fruits becomes larger as the residence period becomes longer, they live with their family members, and they are satisfied with consuming domestic fruits.
