This sociological research is aimed to clarify customer views about health care access and quality in the Riga Maternity House. The research shows the implementation of different phases: quality system health care, factors a feeling its accessibility, customer's views about the organization and its employees and the pros and cons of the Riga Maternity House. Access to health care is characterized by three aspects: financial, geographical, organizational and administrative access. Riga Maternity House has limited access to health care: geographically (parking), financial (cost of services and increased comfort), organizational and administrative (admission department operation, etc.). The patient’s most important reasons for choosing the Riga Maternity House are the geographic availability of the organization, financial support from the government and friends’ recommendations. In quality rating components evaluations the highest are: competence of personnel, services availability, staff attitude, while the lowest rating is for the technical condition of the rooms and the nutrition system. The generalized index shows that, in total, costumers have a positive attitude to the organization and recommend these services to others. The main conclusion after the questionnaire data analysis (250 contributors) and content analysis (250 comments) is that the organization needs improvements in several areas, such as receiving-room work, feeding system, geographic availability, room condition and staff attitude to customer.
