لاتفيا. Promocijas darba mērķis ir izvērtēt Eiropas Savienības lauksaimniecības atbalsta ietekmi uz lauksaimniecības attīstību Latvijā, kā arī izstrādāt priekšlikumus turpmākai atbalsta organizācijai, ievērojot lauku teritoriju attīstības intereses. Darbā ir analizēta atbalsta attīstība, tā pamatotība un atbalsta ietekmes vērtēšanas metodiskie jautājumi. Tā rezultātā izveidota un daļēji aprobēta lauku atbalsta ekonomiskās ietekmes novērtēšanas metodika, izvērtēti galvenie pašreizējās Lauku attīstības programmas ieguvumi un trūkumi, sniegti oriģināli priekšlikumi turpmākai lauksaimniecības un lauku atbalsta organizācijai, ievērojot Latvijas lauku iedzīvotāju sociālās un ekonomiskās vajadzības. Darba rezultāti ir izmantojami lauksaimniecības un lauku atbalsta politikas veidošanā Latvijā, kā arī atbalsta ekonomiskās ietekmes novērtēšanai.

Thesis is to evaluate the impact of the EU support on the development of agriculture, as well as to develop recommendations for the future support organization in Latvia, considering the needs of the development of the rural territories. In the Ph.D. Thesis the reasons and development of the agricultural support are analysed, along with the analysis of the methods for the support evaluation. In the result of the research, a methodology for evaluating the economic impact of rural support has been developed, the main advantages and disadvantages of the present Rural Support Programme have been evaluated, recommendations for the future development of agricultural and rural support in Latvia are presented. The results of the research are usable for improvement of the agricultural and rural policy in Latvia, and also for the evaluation of the economic impact of the support.
