The knowledge of plant and animal species disappearance in large and small biological crises significantly affects the formation of positive environmental awareness which contributes to environmental preservation and the protection of weak, non-dominant plant and animal species. This prevents or delays the next major biological crisis that will certainly arise from smaller, sporadic ones. Ozone depletion, the overgrowth of human population and the extinction of weak, non-dominant species are current processes in the modern world which also occurred in large biological crises in the past. It is obvious that, if some- thing is not quickly changed, the management of this planet by the human race will lead to the sixth major biological crisis.
