Slovakia is a country rich in mineral waters. Water can pick up radionuclides as it flows through the soil and rocks. This study investigated the contamination of Slovakia by collecting 5 litre samples during 2010 and 2011. The highest total activity of alpha particles and 226Ra was detected in the Piešťany spa.
