[Epidemiological Investigation of the Immunity Responses of Infectious Bursal Disease in Broiler Chicken in Syria Associated with Use of the Beer Yeast in the Feed Rations]
2011
Al- Sharabi,M
The specific aim of this study was to determine the effects of the supplementation of Brewer's Yeast available in local markets to Broilers diets on performance and immune response in broiler chicks . 1-The effect of adding Brewer's yeast to the 500 commercial broiler chickens were used. The Inactivated Yeast was used in powder form which was mixed with the feed used at a level of, 1000 g yeast per ton of feed, to compare the impact of yeast on the specific and non-specific immunity of infectious bursal disease ( IBD ) by using three types of commercial vaccines used in Syria against this disease . Two imported vaccines ( 1,2 ) and a local one ( 3 ). Chicks were assigned to three control groups which there were no Brewer's yeast to their diets Brewer's Yeast and three treatment groups which there were no Brewer's Yeast to their diets. The daily data of the study were recorded : mortality and morbidity of the study birds . Weight gain were weekly recorded . Blood samples were collected and examined to obtain specific and non-specific immune responses . (479 ) blood samples were collected from the groups of study birds at the age of ( 5,13,22,29,36,41 ) days to examine them by ELISA test and Agar gel immunodiffiusion AGID Test for infectious bursal disease . ( 140 ) blood samples were collected with EDTA from the groups of study birds at the age of (7,14,21,28,35,42 ) days to examine them by White blood cell differential count
