A preliminary hypothesis, that on young volcanic rocks of Lower Jeseník Mountains referential group of Andosols are present was confirmed, and genesis of studied soil was briefly described. Described diagnostic features for andic soil horizons were defined according to the classification: World Reference Base (2006), and Slovak Morphogenetic Soil Classification system (2000); as in the Czech Taxonomie Soil Classification System such criteria are missing. Two soil profiles with andic features on the Velký Roudný volcanic dome were sampled and analysed. Both of studied soils meet conditions of Andosol diagnostic criteria and therefore they could be classified as Vitric Andosol (Dystric) to Vitric Andosol (Eutric) according to the WRB 2006, and as andic Cambisol according to Slovak soil classification. A preliminary proposal for supplement of these soils in the Czech Taxonomic Soil Classification System has been putted forward.
