Scanning electron microscopic studies have been carried out on the external seed surface of 8 taxa of subgenus Rumex in Bulgaria. Analyzed infraspecific variability of ultra sculptural surface of seeds. An assessment of the taxonomic value in the target species to distinguished morphologically similar taxa. Key to subsection grouping considered in this work, using exclusively seed characters, are provided.
