Energy analysis of the drying process in the classical convective dryer and heat pump dryer was performed in order to compare and evaluate energy resource consumption at operating the equipment. The experiments were carried out under identical conditions achieved in the process: drying air temperature of 45°C, air flow velocities of 0.5 m/s, load 12 kg/m2, external air temperature 21°C and air humidity of 43% at four levels of water content 22ч60%. Comparative studies showed that the energy consumption in heat pump dryer was 2.3 times smaller. Analysis of drying with heat pump proved that obtaining intermediate moisture products leads to significant energy savings in their manufacture.
