In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was analysed the influence of sowing density on yielding capacity of fruits of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris) and melon (Cucumis melo) fruits. It was revealed that in the conditions of watermelon growing in the central agroclimatic zone of Belarus on sod-podzolic light loamy soil, the highest productivity of fruits (39,7 t/ha) was obtained in case of plant stand density of plants 4800 pieces / ha. In the southern agro-climatic zone on the sod-podzolic sandy loam soil the highest yields of watermelon (40.1 ton/ha in the Brest region and 43.6 ton/ha in Gomel region) were obtained in case of plant stand density of plants of 4500 pieces / ha. The optimal plant stand density or melon plants was 7100 pieces / ha, which provided the greatest yield of fruits (18.0 ton/ha), the yield increase was 2.2 ton/ha or 13,9%.
