Sulfonilurea herbicides are intensively used in agriculture all over the world, but mechanism of their influence on growing agricultural plants is not researched enough. The main goal of the article is evaluation of the influence of exogenous 5-aminolevulinic acid on early stages of the development of winter rape (Brassica napus) treated with sulfonilurea herbicide Magnum. External appearance of 7-days rape plants, grown on water and on the solution of Magnum herbicide (500 mg/l and 1000 mg/l) is analyzed. Weight of hypocotyls, cotyledons and phytomass of winter rape plants is evaluated. Heme content in 7-days plants of winter rape, grown on Magnum herbicide solution with 5-aminolevulinic acid and without it is calculated. Sulfonilurea herbicide Magnum diminishes length and biomass of hypocotyls and roots of 7-days old winter rape plants, increases cotyledon biomass and content of proline in them, decreases rate of endogenous 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) synthesis, amount of heme, chlorophyll a and b, and carotenoids. Exogenous ALA (0,1; 1,0 and 10mg/l) diminishes negative herbicide action on length and biomass of hypocotyls and roots, strengthening accumulation of proline and heme in cotyledons to promote herbicide tolerance of winter rape plants.
