The article describes the Belarusian population of whooper swan (Cygnus Cygnus), its size, dynamics and distribution. The first information about the breeding of this species of swans on the territory of the Republic of Belarus dates back to 2002 and in 2011 the population size was at least 40-50 pairs. Distribution of the species on the territory of the republic is relatively uniform, except for the largest breeding ground in the extreme south-east of the country and the complete absence in the east. At the moment, whooper swan makes extensive use of three types of habitat: fish farm ponds, lakes and permanent artificial ponds, which represent 91% of the total number of nesting groups species.
