In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented results of morphometric measurements of ovary and oviduct of turkeys from hatching to the beginning of egg-laying. We have determined the weight, dimensions (length and width) of different sections of oviduct and ovary. We have established the periods of the most intensive development of reproductive organs of turkeys. Comparing the results of studies of growth and development of genital organs of turkeys, there were identified the following morphometric changes: the growth rate of the genitals was minimum till the 60th-day old and ranges from 0.002 to 0.05 g / day, then by the 210-day it increases to 0.63 g / day and reaches its maximum before egg-laying (2.78 g / day). With regard to the change in mass of the ovary and oviduct of turkeys separately, in the age of 1 day to 60-day-old there was marked the intensive development of ovary. Thus, average daily gain of ovary varied from 0.001 to 0.03, and the oviduct - from 0.0007 to 0.028 g / day. Starting from 60 days of age and prior to laying, the growth rate of the oviduct weight exceeded the growth rate of the ovary, that was caused by the formation of eggs in the oviduct.
