Immunological studies on polyvalent ovine pasteurellosis vaccine
2012
Hassan, F. F. I.
The present work was planned to study the immune response of sheep vaccinated with multivalent different adjuvanted pneumonic pasteurellosis vaccines (Pneumobac vaccine; a commercial vaccine produced by Veterinary Serum and Vaccine Research Institute, Abbasia, Cairo). 21 sheep were divided into seven groups (1st group was vaccinated with aluminum hydroxide gel adjuvanted Pneumobac vaccine, 2nd group with saponin, 3rd group with Montanide(ISA70), 4th group with aluminum hydroxide gel+saponin, 5th group with saponin+Montanide(ISA70), 6th group with oil+aluminum hydroxide gel and the last group as control). The prepared vaccines are evaluated by determination of cellular immunity by heterophiles/lymhocytes ratio and evaluation of humoral immunity by IHA, ELISA and passive mouse protection tests. The data in the present work showed that double adjuvants of saponin+Montanide(ISA70), aluminum hydroxide gel+saponin and oil+aluminum hydroxide gel yielded the highest antibody titres and significant protection against the challenge of virulent strains of P. multocida type A, D and B6
