Indicators of marketing efficiency for milk products in traditional sector in Sharkia Governorate

The milk production in Egypt is through two major sectors; traditional and special sector, which contribute about 71.8% and 28.2% from total milk production, respectively. The previous studies indicate that there are problems reducing the efficiency of milk marketing system in Egypt, generally and in Sharkia governorate specially. Thus may be show through what the mediators obtain from the. consumer's pound, although they offer the minimum of marketing services, this reflects negatively on the producers behavior in breeding more milk animals, so the milk gap remains still. The study depended upon secondary data, publication and UN. publication, besides primary data was collected by questionnaire from and also interview with producers and dealers through January 2012 to covering season 2010/2011. Results and .Recommendations of the study: First: the results: The study revealed the following results: The average of producer share with respect to buffalo milk was estimated about 84.18% from one pound of consumer with maximum 84.18% in fakous district and minimum 83.33% in Menia Elkamh diotrict, while with respect to cow milk, the average of producer share was estimated about 74.21% with maximum 75% in Menia Elkamh district and minimum 73.44% in Abou Hamad district. The average of whole sale share with respect to buffalo milk was estimated about 3.71 % from one pound of consumer with maximum 4.44% in Abou Hamad district and minimum 3.33% in Menia Elkamh district, while the average of whole-sale share with respect to cow milk from one pound of consumer about 7:34.% with maximum 8.33% ,in Menia Elkamh district and minmum 6.25% in Abou Hamad district. The average of partial-sale share With respect to buffalo milk was estimated about 11.78% from one pound of consumer with maximum 13.34% in Menia Elkamh district and minimum 10.87% in Fakous district, while the average of partial- share with respect to cow milk was about 18.45% with maximum 20.31 % in Abou Hamad district and minimum 16.67% in Menia Elkamh district. The average of mediators share with respect to buffalo milk was about 15.82% from one pound of consumer with maximum 16.67% in Menia Elkamh district and mimmum 15.22% in Fakous district, while with respect to cow milk was about 25.79%. with maximum 26.56% in Abou Hamad and mimum 25% in Menia Elkamh. The recommendations of the study were as follows: Necessity, milk marketing by the co-operative societies specially in traditional sector. Reducmg the milk which consumptive in calves nursing and replaced it by another alternatives. Manufacture the raw-milk to benefiting from price discriminate compare with selling the raw milk only.
