Study and transforming cytoplasmic male sterility to selected maize lines

In order to prepare and using cytoplasmic male sterility lines in maize hybrid seed production, 18 lines including Dent, Flint, Sweet and Pop corn were selected. Selection was based on having good combining ability with the other lines, homozygosity and absence of restorer factor. In first year of the experiment, each selected line was crossed with one cms line as donor separately and F1 seeds were planted together with recurrent parents and back crossing between them by artificial fertilizing isolated from mail sterile lines prepared that can be reproduce and use in new hybrid seeds
