Study of agronomic traits of bread wheat lines /varieties in regional preliminary yield trial in the cold and moderate cold dryland areas

Drought is important environment stress in wheat production under dryland of Iran. This project was conducted to achieve to high-yielding genotypes with desirable traits with abiotic and biotic tolerance to stresses in rainfed conditions, 230 selected lines from national and international generations were studied in Maragheh, Qamlo, Zanjan, Sararood, Shirvan and Urumieh Agricultural Research Station in 1388-89 cropping season and compare with released cultivars as check: Azar2, Homa, Rasad and Ohadi. Lines were evaluated based on some desirable agronomy, physiological and morpho-physiological characteristics, winter survival, grain yield and plant disease resistance. Consider to above mentioned traits,80lines were selected from PBWYT-1 and PBWYT-2 which had higher or equal grain yield with check. Selected materials will be more evaluvated in preliminary uniform yield trial in next year's. Selected lines, because of tolerance to hard climatic conditions, have a good grain yield potential and traits related to biotic stresses.
