An investigation on the effects of different levels of sorghum instead of corn in reproductivity and production abilities of quail

In this plan used Surghum grain had 3.32% of Tannin. Quails were rared upto mature age in the same conditions and from egg producing time (day 43) to day 70 ages, egg production was recorded. After this time, quails were divided to 6 treatments , 3 repeats and 2 observations I repeat , and in any observations 20 heads quail (15 Female, 5 Male) : : . ;d ~:~~~~7~~;;:1~t-~~'\{~.=~t~~ ~ were caged. Treatments under study were as: replacement of sorghum in corn of diet: 0 , !. . 20 , 40 , 60 , 80 , and 100 percent, respectively. Data were recorded from day 70 to one year after egg producing. In first and second four weeks, the changing of diet caused the feeding stress and reducing of production in treatments contain sorghum, but from third four weeks, the treatment with 40% replacement (treat 3) could show a high ability in comparison with the other treatments and control. The results of egg shell trait were non-significantly different (P 0.01 ). In the case of egg weight average, the fourth treatment with 11.49 gr had the highest rate and were significantly different (P 0.01 ). For feed intake, egg production rate (gr) and the number of egg production per a quail traits, the third treatment were higher of other treatments(P 0.01 ). In the case of feed convertion rate to egg treatments of I and 3 were commonly the best (P 0.01 ). In general, The replacement of 40% sorghum (with 3.32% Tannin) to corn IS acceptable for egg production trait. In the case of hatchability and fertility traits, there 1s no significant difference between treatments (P 0.01 ).
