Designation of long-Term Development Plan of Southern Sea Fishes Based on the Productive, Subjective and Regional Consideration Registration

According to the objegtives of 4th Development Master Plan of the country, total fish production of the country at end of year 1388 (2009) be 763461 metric tones which provides a per capita fish meat consumption of 8 kg. Nevertheless by the completely implementation of the plan, the assumed figure is largely less than that of world figure for the year of 2009 (17.2 kg). To decrease the distance to world average consumption, a great effort accompanied with a comprehensive program and a huge investment is necessary. Present situation urged that the development of fisheries subdivision should be inquired on two principles: 1) sustainability of the fully exploited fish stocks 2) Increasing of production efficiency. To achieve higher production with subsequent higher per capita consumption, and to develop the employment and nominee profits, priority of consideration and investment should be given to the: EEZ large pelagic fishes, small pelagic fishes, processing and product versatility, mariculture development, catch of non-common species (such as lantern fish), sidelong industries (net, cage, fish food, ). Multiple effort with large scale planning accompanied by applied research were put in the recent years particularly in the period of the Islamic Revolution, to increase the fish production and to improve the per capita consumption of the fish products. To establish the "National Comprehensive Plans" for fisheries development, could be account as a long step in this regard. The Comprehensive Plan of Fin Fish of the South is an important one of these plans. The plan is comprising six sub plans of: Demersal fish, Large pelagic fish, small pelagic and lantern fish, mariculture, ecology, and.processing. Also two other section added to the plan which explain the present status and the potentials of fisheries in the south seas of the country. According to the plan the fish production will be around 450 thousands of the metric tones in the year of 1393(2014)(end of 5th Master Plan) and around 600 thousands metric tones in end of year 1404 (2025) if the objectives are achieved.
