This study was carried out for identifying morphological characteristics of ten native genotypes of Hazelnut (Gerduii, Gerje, shastak, payize, Mahali karaj, Tabestaneh, Rasmi, Shirvani, pashmineh, Gerde Eshkeverat) according to national guidelines for the conduct of tests for distinctness, uniformity and stability in hazelnut. This study was done since 1387 in Kamal Abad and Astara stations. For this purpose the characteristics of genotypes were identified through national guideline. Results showed that all genotypes were distinct in the case of fruit and nut and leaf characters. Gerduii, Gerje, shastak, payize, Mahali karaj, Tabestaneh, pashmineh genotypes have circular fruit and thin shell and shell can be removed easily from kernel. These genotypes are dual purposes and can be used in chocolate synthesis and in the form of fresh market. Gerduii and Gerje are suitable for pollination of several varieties. Rasmi, Shirvani, and Gerde Eshkeverat have elongated fruit, thin shell with high percentage of kernel and hull can be removed easily from shell. They also do not have alternative bearing and are suitable for nuts.
