Effects of planting density on developmental stages, seed yield yield comonents of safflower, new safflower cultivar Sofehâ__

This experiment was conducted to determine planting pattern effects on developmental stages, yield and yield components Sofeh cultivar. Using a split plot distribution based on randomized complete blocks design with four replications in two years. Inter row spacing (25,35,45,55 cm) and no. of plant per m2 (30,40,50) were considered as main plot and sub plot, respectevely. Based on components analysis effect the year was signifigant on grain yield and the seed yield in first year of experiment was hiegher thn secod year significantly. Effect of inter row spacing was signifigant on plant height and seed yield and was not signifigant on no. of heads per plant, 1000 seed wieght and no. of days to physiological ripening. No. of plant per m2 had significant effect on plant height and had not signifigant effect on seed yield, no. of heads per plant and 1000 seed wieght. The highest seed yield was obtained from 25 cm inter row spacing (2645 kg/ha) and also the hieghest seed yield was obtained from 40 plants per m2 (2295). Interaction effect of 25cm with 40 plants per m2 had the hieghest seed yield (2927 kg/ha). Key wods: safflower, inter row spacing, plant density, yield components, seed yield
