Land suitability evaluation is one of the most important requirements for sustainable agriculture and protection of natural resources. The Darengoun plain with 22000 ha. area is located in 40 km. far from southern west of Shiraz. The mean annual temperature is 14.5°C and the mean annual percipitation is 490mm. Therefore this area is classified as semiarid of meditrranian region with xeric moisture and thermic temperature regims. According to the climatic data, short growth period (134 days) is the main limiting factor for dryland farming . Farmers at the end of the growing season must do complementary irrigation or will face with high reduction in yeild. For present research in every soil unit a profile was selected and each horizon was descripted. A soil sample of all horizons for physico- chemical were analized and based on results have been classified. The soil classification was done the results of soil analysis and field abservastion. According to the soil taxonomy (1999) the soils were classified in four orders (Entisols, Inceptisols, Alfisols and Vertisols). Land suitability classes determined by using land characteristics and climatic condition for wheat, barley, maize and sugarbeet with parametric methods(Square root method) for different soil units. This method is beeter than limitation methods. Research also reveald that soil units have different limiting factors and in this view main limiting factors are stoniness, relief, slope and lime.
