Changes during storage in the total phenolic contents and antioxidant activity of Centella asiatica drinks in different packaging materials were studied. The total phenolic content and antioxidant activity were determined using Folin-Ciocalteu method and 2,2-diphenyl-1¬picrylhydrazyl (OPPH) assay, respectively. All analyses were carried out monthly for the period of one year for drinks packaged in high-density polyethylene (HOPE) bottle, Polypropylene (PP) bottle, standing pouch and can, stored at ambient temperature. It was found that the total phenolic content and anti-oxidant activity remained stable for the first month of storage regardless of the type of packaging materials used. Significant decrease (p<O.O5) was noticed after two months of storage with the canned drinks showing the greatest decrease, followed by drinks in PP bottle and HOPE bottle, whereas the drinks in standing pouch maintained the highest reading throughout the storage period.
