This study analyzed the impact the coping mechanisms and mitigating measures adopted by farmers on the productivity and efficiency of vegetable farms in Bukidnon and Benguet [Philippines]. Results revealed that the coping mechanisms adopted by the vegetable farmers in the study areas are finding additional income, availment of credit and improvement of cultural practices. On the other hand, the mitigating measures adopted by the farmer respondents were development of additional irrigation facilities during the drought season and construction of drainage canal during rainy season and adjustment of the cropping calendar. Results also show that the amount of fertilizer, level of labor used and cost of pesticide significantly affect the productivity of the farmers. The results also show the vegetable farming in the study areas were affected by the change in climate conditions. Furthermore, the productivity of vegetable farms in the study areas were affected by inefficiency variables such as age of farmers, membership in organizations, attendance in seminar related to disaster management. Partial budgeting analysis shows that farmers adopting coping mechanism and mitigating measures against climate change had higher income compared to non-adoptors. The results of the study suggest that climate change did affect the productivity and income of the farmers. It is recommended that the Department of Agriculture [Quezon City, Philippines] in coordination with other Government Agencies should organize the farmers and orient them with the effects of climate change on their farming activities.
