To evaluate the effects of sub-lethal doses of chlorpyrifos (303.5 and 74.9 ppm) and fenvalerate (52.5 and 42.7 ppm) on gonads of adult male and female of Chrotogonus trachypterus (Blanchard) were analyzed respectively. Biochemical analysis on different parameters such as protein, cholesterol, alkaline phosphatase and ATPase were evaluated at 12, 24 and 48h treatment. Hypoproteinemia (P less than 0.01) exhibited at 12, 24 and 48h after applying chlorpyrifos in both sexual category. Fenvalerate led to hyperproteinemia (P less than 0.01) at 24 and 48 h in males and females, while at 12h non-significant boost in males. Cholesterol level was highly significantly (P less than 0.001) decline after exposed to chlorpyrifos till 48h Whereas, introduced to fenvalerate, accumulation of cholesterol level in gonads was highly significantly (P less than 0.001) enhanced at 12, 24 and 48h of adult male and female. A non-significant decrease in alkaline phosphatase activity was recorded at 12h in males, subsequently more significant (P less than 0.01) at 24 and 48h after using chlorpyrifos. Fenvalerate showed fluctuation in alkaline phosphatase level like gradually significant (P less than 0.05) increase at 12h and after that significantly declined at 24 and 48h in both cases. Chlorpyrifos and fenvalerate both explained highly significant (P less than 0.001) increase in the storage level of ATPase at 48h in male and female adults. To achieve the potential toxicity among insecticides in biochemical activity of pest management by affecting their reproductive physiology through gametogensis and fertility control.
