[Analysis of The Genetic Diversity in Syrian Shami Goats ]

Shami goat is one of most important domestic breed in Syria, because it has highly breeding capacity under the hard environmental conditions and it has been used in crossbreeding with Mountain goat as a donor for milk producing traits. In spite of that, this animal is still far away from the scientific research, moreover, it was exposed to random crossbreeding with Mountain goat by goat breeders, which will lead in a long time to loss an important domestic animal genetic resource, However, some of it's characterizes have not been detected yet. In this research, the genetic diversity among 30samples patterns of pure Shami goats (10 female + 10 male + 10 kazma male) was detected by using Inter simple sequence repeat method (ISSR), 15 primers of ISSR were used, and only 11 of them had given results of amplification. 96 bands were observed and the Polymorphic rate was 100 %. The Simple Sequence Repeats method (SSR) was also used. 27 pairs of SSR primers of were applied, and 15 pairs primers only had given results of amplification. Primers had given 41 bands in this case. and the polymorphic rate was 100 %. Results indicated that there was a genetic diversity among goats studied, and there was similarity ranged from 0% to 100%. There was a possibility to distinguish between the goats whether they are brothers or twines.
