Evaluation and selection in segregating rapeseed genotpes;.
2014
Rameeh, Valiollah | Gadami, Nasrolla
In order to develop segregating generations and selection of breeding lines which are including the suitable agronomic traits such as early maturity, 31 segregating populations including 14 F2 generations, 9 F3 generations and 8 M3 generations were studied at Agriculture Research Station of Baiekola during 2011-14. Each population was planted saparete from the other populations in rows with 30 cm apart. Crop management factors like land preparation, crop rotation, fertilizer, and weed control were followed as recommended for local area. All the plant protection measures were adopted to make the crop free from insects. In the flowering stage of each population, the superior genotypes were selected and selfed based on ideotype characteristics including early flowering, early maturity, tolerance to lodgging and disease. Fifty late maturity segregating generations were omitted. Single plant was harvested and its seeds were considered for next generation. During three sequential years selection and selfing of suitable genotypes were done. Finally 20 inbreed lines were selected for evaluation in the next preliminary yield trial. Key words: Rapeseed, segregating generations, ideotype, early maturity.
