Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease and has a worldwide distribution. The most important source of infection is infected animal and the main way of transmission is water. Major epidemics, usually fallowed by heavy rainfall and flood events. The bacterial infection causes complications such as septicemia, interstitial nephritis, hemolytic anemia, and abortion in most of livestock species. The present study examines the Outbreak of leptospirosis in domestic animals in Hilla wetland located in Bushehr province in 2003. Serum samples were obtained from 150 animals include 40 cows, 60 sheep and 50 goats. MAT exam was conducted on samples and dilution 1/100 and higher were considered positive. 68 sampels were positive. The predominant serovar include grippotyphosa (36.76%), Pomona (30.88%), canicola (23.53%) and shermani (8.82%). As leptospirosis was confirmed by the MAT, the necessary recommendations include vaccination, increasing the level of hygiene, Identification of carrier animals and removing them from the herd, rodent control and improving nutritional status were given the owner to combat the disease.
