An experiment was conducted to compare Apparent Metabolisable Energy, corrected for nitrogen (AMEn) and fatty acid content of earthworm meal (Eisenia fetida) with fish meals (domestic and imported). AMEn. and fatty acid profile of the meals were determined. The result of experiment showed that the amount of the AMEn values of earthworm meal and domestic and imported fish meals were 3258, 3566 and 3211 kcallkg DM respectively. Fatty acid profile of earthworm meal showed that the medium chain triglycerides (C8¬Cl Z) of earthworm meal were higher than that of the fish meals, but the Myristic and Palmitic acids contents were lower than that of the fish meals. The amount of omega (co3, co6) and long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids of earthworm meal were similar or higher than that of the fish meals. The ratio of mono and poly unsaturated to saturated fatty acids (MUFA+PUFAISFA) in the earthworm meal was higher than that of the fish meals. This value for earthworm, domestic and imported fish meals were ] .26, 0.75 and 0.59 respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that the earthworm meal had suitable AMEn and MUFA+PUFAISFA ratio and could be added as a supplementary to animal, poultry and fishery diet.
